The former Emir of Kano and the Former CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has noted that northern politicians are shouting, over the decision of the federal government to move some CBN’s department from the federal capital territory, Abuja, to Lagos State, urging the federal government and the relevant authorities to ignore the noise by the Northern politicians.
Speaking further, the former Governor of the Central Bank made it known that Abuja as the capital of Nigeria is not only a northern issue. He went on and backed the decision of the CBN to move some of its departments from Abuja to Lagos State.
According to Daily Post, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi made this disclosure in a statement he released. He went on and urged the CBN Governor, Yemi Cardoso, to try and consider mothers with kids and some individuals who have medical issues while relocating the departments to Lagos.
Some parts of the statement read: “Northern politicians will shout that this is moving from Abuja to Lagos. Abuja is a federal capital not a northern issue. So long as this is a principled decision, the noise should be ignored.”
Furthermore, he recalled that when he was about to license Jaiz Bank, some individuals and religious organisations, including CAN, were making noise about it, but he ignored them and licenced the bank and nothing happened. He thereby stated it clearly that the present CBN Governor should not listen to any of these individuals who are making noise.
